Michael Jones is the Chief Technologist of Google's Earth, Maps, and Local Search efforts -- the teams within Google responsible for providing location intelligence and information in global context to users worldwide. Michael was formerly the CTO of Keyhole Corporation, the company that developed the technology used today in Google Earth. He was also CEO of Intrinsic Graphics, and earlier, was Director of Advanced Graphics at Silicon Graphics. Dan Melinger,

Darren Koenig,

As Tele Atlas’ Wireless, Internet and Telecom Markets Director, Darren Koenig manages strategy and marketing for Tele Atlas’ mobile and internet market segments in the Americas. Wireless Location-Based Services (LBS) have begun a cycle of exponential growth, and Koenig is tasked with positioning Tele Atlas in that dynamic space.  He has 16 years of wireless, telecommunications, and technology industry experience and has held key product positions at Sprint-Nextel, Cable and Wireless LLC and MCI Communications.
 
In 2000, Koenig founded PushLoop Technology, which addressed connectivity and integration needs in the supply chain industry. He has also worked in several international consulting roles, most recently as the European CTO for a global manufacturing company, and prior to that at Accenture.
 
Koenig graduated from the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science and holds a Certificate of Management from the University of Maryland. Eric Carr,

Prior to joining Openwave, Jon managed LBS Industry Solutions Marketing at ESRI, building a developer-partner network serving various industry verticals supported by wireless carrier partnerships he helped ESRI architect.

In 2004, Jon was awarded the annual ESRI Award in Innovation. Prior to ESRI, he deployed the first wireless e911 GIS provisioning product offerings in the U.S. while at LBS pioneer SignalSoft, and was a Senior Analyst & Product Manager with wireless research & consulting firm The Strategis Group where he managing wireless-market segmentation GIS products tracking FCC spectrum auction activity and coverage build-out. He began his GIS career at M7 Visual Intelligence, a start-up that built and launched an airborne and terrestrial remote sensing system that collected 1ft resolution orthophotos & oblique imagery and street-level panoramic imagery.
 
Jon's extracurricular activities include blogging at maperture, as well as an adjunct lectureship at the University of London teaching a graduate course in Mobile Location-based Services now entering its sixth year. Dr. Muzibul Khan is vice president of product management and engineering for the wireless terminals division of Samsung Telecommunications America. As Samsung's lead engineer and product planner, Dr. Khan works closely with carriers and technology partners to define and develop innovative handsets with intuitive features that complement carriers' service offerings and are easy for consumers to use.

Before joining Samsung, Dr. Khan was with Lucent Technologies/Philips Consumer Communications for six years. He served as technical manager responsible for Systems Engineering, Standards and Regulatory Compliance for wireless terminals and infrastructure products. Prior to this position, Dr. Khan was an associate professor of electrical engineering at Lakehead University, Canada.

Dr. Khan obtained his doctorate degree from Concordia University in Adaptive Error Control Coding for Satellite communications. He has authored more than 30 technical publications and received two patents with several patents pending. Dr. Khan received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Electrical Communications Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia.

NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc.

Masaaki Maeda is currently the Senior Vice President of the Service and Technology Division at NTT DoCoMo USA’s New York headquarters and is responsible for developing new Mobile Multimedia Services and forming alliances with American companies. NTT DoCoMo USA is a wholly owned subsidiary established in November 1999 of Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc. Mr. Maeda joined the New York Office of DoCoMo USA in July 2002 and in November 2004, he launched DoCoMo USA’s first service in North America called “namikiteru,” a Wi-Fi connection service. It was followed in October 2005 by the introduction of “namimail,” a software application enabling Japanese email to be accessible on a mobile device.

Mr. Maeda began his career in the Japanese telecommunications industry in May 1983 at NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) in the Technical Development Department. In March 1994, Mr. Maeda moved to NTT DoCoMo Inc., the mobile arm of NTT which was spun off from its parent company in 1992. He held a variety of managerial positions in Corporate Planning, Personnel, General Affairs, and Mobile Multimedia Planning during his career with NTT DoCoMo in Japan. While at the Mobile Multimedia Division in Tokyo, he spearheaded DoCoMo’s first location based search service on the PHS network, called “Imadoko,” as well as formed LBS platform alliances with map content providers and other vendors.

Mr. Maeda holds both a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Master of Electrical Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. In addition, he completed a MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Management in June 2002.

As Director of Telecommunications and LBS at ESRI, Randy is responsible for global marketing of GIS solutions to this market.  He has 25 years experience working within the industry including senior vice president of product marketing for Axient Communications and vice president for Cox Communications’ new product operations in the Arizona market where he launched their telephone, digital television and DOCSIS cable modem services.  As director of network design for Bell Atlantic International he was responsible for business development in central Asia, Europe and Russia. He served in the public sector through the fellowship program at Brookings Institution and on the staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Asia Pacific Subcommittee.

Prior to this function, he was head of Digital Media and Entertainment Services and Platforms in the R&D Division, now Orange Labs, managing a portfolio of innovative projects on TV, music, games and user-generated contents. Prior to joining NAVTEQ, as Senior Vice President for the Intermec Global Sales organization, Guillory lead a 300 person sales team to an increased profit goal of 101% - the first time in four years Intermec North America was over plan and profitable. He gained experience in the intelligent transportation industry while working serving as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Amtech, the worldwide leader in radio frequency identification, a subsidiary of Intermec.

Prior to working for Intermec, Guillory spent two years at Weblink Wireless, Inc, a leading wireless company in North America and five years working for Visual Information Technology (now Connectware, Inc.), a premier imaging company. It was at VITec that Guillory began his foray into geographic information systems. Guillory spent the first nine years of his career at IBM.

Guillory holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and served in the United States Marine Corps.
